Use the Execution Work File option to build the execution work file and delete the execution work file. The work file must exist in order to produce any execution ID reports, including account detail analysis reports. The build execution work file option extracts information from the actual transactions in the source packages. As with the creation of system journal entries, transactions recorded after the creation of the execution work file are not included in this work file. Only the information extracted at the time of creation is included in the work file. Therefore it is necessary to re-create the work file if additional transactions are recorded in the source packages, or if additional journal entries are posted to the general ledger. The process of building this work file may require a significant amount of time and disk space. The amount of time required to build the work file is affected by such factors as the size of the files, speed of the processor, the availability of contiguous disk space, and average access time of the disk drive. The disk space consumed by the work file depends primarily on the number of transactions included in the selection process.

The Delete Execution Work File option deletes the existing execution work file from the dataset, releasing the disk space consumed by the execution work file for other uses. Caution -- do not delete the work file until all necessary execution reports have been generated
