Ability to mask / scramble personal information from datasets before sending to others for improvement testing and trouble shooting (AGS-8808)
Benefits:
You can now easily mask/obfuscate/scramble sensitive data like Social Security numbers, banking data, and other personally identifiable information when copying a dataset.
Benefits of this new feature include:
+ Alleviate privacy concerns when sending datasets to Greenstone Support.
+ Reduce time and effort to remove personal information before sending datasets to Greenstone Support.
+ Maximimize ability to comply with privacy laws and policies.
Details:
- There is a new checkbox in the copy dataset function labeled "Scramble Sensitive Data ?"
Navigation - Usage:
Copy Dataset: Utilities > Copy Dataset > Select Dataset
- "Scramble Sensitive Data ?" is a "Y/N" field that defaults to "N." It is available for both MSSQL and PSQL datasets.
- Answering "Y" to the question will result in the following data being scrambled:
- Name/Address Information
- Social Security/Federal ID Number
- Name Descriptions (short and long)
- All Address Lines
- City (short and long)
- State
- Zip Code
- Phone Number
- Comments
- Split Group Descriptions
- Bank Information
- Name Description
- Name/Address Information
- Data scrambling rules
- The fields will be filled with a string of fifteen or fewer Xs depending on field size.
- Example Name search grid after scrambling.
