Agent - (unresponsive) Error 1064: The server cannot accept control messages at this time.

Problem

Please follow the steps below to restart the services that communicate with any of the Greenstone mobile apps or customer portals.

Solution

  1. Log on to the AGRIS primary server as a user with administrator access.

    1. PSQL - Typically the Database server.

    2. MSSQL - Typically the Primary AGRIS application server.

  2. Open Services and find the correct AGRIS - Agent web service (NOTE you will only see one either PSQL or MSSQL Agent.

  3. Stop and Start the service

    1. Select or highlight the service AGRS- Agent Web Service

    2. Refresh using the button above

    3. Stop the service

    4. Restart the service

  4. If you receive the following error please now open the task manager, find the agent and force the stop of the agent.

  5. If the 1064 error is received it indicates an even that corrupted operation of the agent.

    1. Ensure you contact your Greenstone Support team.

      1. Verify the version of the Agent you are currently running from the Support team.

      2. Make sure the following steps are done.

        1. AGRIS Agent Web Services - Service is stopped.

        2. The same version you are currently running is available on the local machine.

        3. A copy of the Server ,ServerUpdate and SmartClient folders are created.

        4. Now open the agent resource files and folders

          1. Locate the server Folder

          2. Select all DLLs within the server folder.

          3. Paste the DLLs within your working folder for “server”

        5. Start the service - If it starts without the 1064 error your task is complete!

        6. If it still receives the error open the agent resource files and folder.

          1. Locate the Smart Client folder

          2. Select all DLLs within the smart client folder.

          3. Paste the DLLs within your working folder for “smart client folder”

        7. Start the service - If it starts without the 1064 error your task is complete!

          1. If further assistance is needed the support team may need to escalate the issue.
