Agent Smart Client - Cannot Log in when installing agent - The remote server returned an error (404) Not found.

When installing the agent for the first time you may encounter an issue starting the smart client.

Solution is that one of the following conditions are happening.

A ) The security rights for the folders or files of the agent are set incorrectly at read only.

B ) The Agent service does not have a user with sufficient rights to run the service on the server.

Troubleshooting tips include.

  1. Do the log files show any unique situations?

    1. C:\Users\Public\Documents\Modularis\logs

    2. The remote server returned and error: (404) Not Found.

       

    3. There was no endpoint listening at http://Localhost:8080

       

  2. Do the files and or folders that contain the cultura agent show in properties as read only? If yes.. update the files and folders and confirm they are NOT read only.

  3. Does the Agent service have an identified user with local or domain admin permissions to run the service? If No… add the account, restart the service and try to log in to the smart client again.
