Error Message "Unable to save file.... The system cannot find the path specified" While Installing/Upgrading AGR

This error is generally associated with trying to do an installation or upgrade of V9 while logged into a computer without local administrative rights.  To correct this issue:

1. Cancel the install

2. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del on the keyboard, click Log Off... and then click Yes

3. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del on the keyboard when prompted to initiate the login process

4. Record the existing username

5. Log on as an account that had administrative rights to the local computer. Logging in with the ‘Administrator' account is generally the easiest and most reliable method to ensure local administrative rights are available. If unsure of the administrator password, please contact your network administrator.

6. Perform the installation/upgrade of AGRIS.

   1. If prompted to reboot when the installation is complete, do the reboot and continue the rest of the steps listed her

   2. If not prompted to reboot, proceed to step 8

7. Log on again with a local administrative account. The AGRIS installer may briefly reappear and complete the installation process. It will close by itself when complete.

8. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del on the keyboard, click Log Off... and then click Yes

9. Login with the regular user that normally works on the computer and make sure that V9 opens correctly

A number of networks are configured in such a way that regular users have local administrative rights to their own computers.  This makes it possible for them to install various applications without having to log off and log on with a different account.  It is important to note that just because a user has local administrative rights, does not mean that they have administrative rights to the entire network itself or the server where the AGRIS data resides.  For information about making regular users local administrator of their own local computers, please refer to the following article:

NOTE:  It is necessary to be logged in with local administrative rights to setup the regular users as described in the article above.
