How to: upgrade the Operating System on an AGRIS machine

To successfully upgrade the OS of a workstation that has AGRIS™ installed; you must first uninstall both AGRIS™ and the Pervasive client.

Click Start

  1. Click Settings

  2. Click Control Panel

  3. Double click to open the Add and Remove Programs utility

  4. In the list you will find both the AGRIS™ application and the Pervasive client. Select AGRIS™ to begin

  5. Select the add/remove button and when prompted select remove the application

  6. This may require a reboot. If not, then reboot to make sure that everything has been removed

  7. Perform the same operation for the Pervasive client in the same manner. The exception here is that removal of the client will force a reboot of the workstation

  8. Once the programs are removed & the computer is rebooted, open the My Computer icon

  9. Open the "C" drive and delete the PVSW and if there is a PVSWARCH, delete this folder as well. This will completely remove any reference to the Pervasive client

  10. Complete the O/S upgrade

  11. Reinstall first the Pervasive client and then the AGRIS™ client
