Tips When Taking Screenshots for Support

Help Us Help You!

Screenshots are a huge help when sending in Support requests.

Most computers already have Snipping Tool installed which is an easy and free way to take screenshots.

How to Use Snipping Tool

  1. Select “New” from Snipping Tool.

  2. Using your cursor, draw a square around the area on your window you want to screenshot.

  3. Save the screenshot (if you wish), or copy/paste it to an email/word document.

Things to Remember for Taking a GREAT Screenshot

  • Always screenshot the FULL window!

  • Take a screenshot of each step taken to reproduce the issue.

  • Take a screenshot of the full error message (including the Details).

  • Use the highlight feature to clearly indicate the area of concern in your screenshot.

If there is a possibility that setup is an issue, please send a screenshot of your setup as well.

Examples:

  1. Is an Item not calculating bushels correctly? Support would need to see the Item Setup and Item Extensions Setup.

  2. Is it User specific? Support may need to look at some of the User Setup.
