Self Check-In - Add Option to Select Remarks from a Dropdown List (AGS-18393)

Benefits

Simplify data input for the Driver

Description

The goal of this new feature is to allow the driver to be able to pick from a list based on the Standard Remark Range of that specific remark. This list is the same list that is found within Ticket Entry, when that remark is used as a Ticket Remark Field.

Setup

In order to setup a drop-down selection list in Self Check-In, go to a Self Check-In setup and add or edit a prompt to be a remark. In this example, weighmaster or ticket remark #01, ticket remark #03, and ticket remark #04 will be used. One will see that there is a recently added Field Entry Method called “Drop-Down Selection List.” By choosing this Field Entry Method, remark #01 will now have a drop-down selection list in Self Check-In.

Be aware that whichever remark one choses to use in a Self Check-In setup, must have a Standard Remark Range assigned to the remark. This is found in GRN Setup Information under Ticket Information. The highlighted rows correspond to the remarks used in the Self Check-In setup example.

Below is a screenshot of the list of Standard Remarks. This list is found in ONE, under Quick List/Remarks Maintenance. Once there click “Edit Standard Remarks” to show the list of Standard Remarks. In order for this feature to work as intended, at least one Standard Remark is required in the Standard Remark Range assigned to the remark in the Self Check-In setup.

In the example Self Check-In setup being used for this demonstration, we will show this prompt working correctly (ticket remark #01 or weighmaster), when a remark has a Standard Remark Range with no Standard Remarks assigned to the remark (ticket remark #03), and when the remark has no Standard Remark Range set (ticket remark #04).

When a ticket remark has both an assigned Standard Remark Range and Standard Remarks, the Self Check-In Client correctly displays the list. This list will contain “leave blank and skip” option if the remark is not required in the Self Check-In setup.

In the case where a remark has a Standard Remark Range with no Standard Remarks assigned to the remark, the Self Check-In Client displays an empty list, as there are no Standard Remarks to choose from. The “leave blank and skip” option is added to the list in order for the driver to not get stuck on this page. Please note that in this scenario, the “leave blank and skip” option will show even if this prompt is required.

Lastly, if there is no Standard Remark Range set for the remark prompt in Self Check-In, the drop-down selection list will consist of all of the Standard Remarks regardless of range. An example of this is shown when the ticket remark #04 prompt is used in a setup. It contains both values from ticket remark #01 (weighmaster) and ticket remark #02 (Grader).

Please be advised when using the Drop-Down Selection List. There is an approximate 500 list maximum. This total is shared with all other prompts in a single setup which also are using the Drop-Down Selection List Field Entry Method.
