Chapter 1_Bulk Transfer 12.3

This chapter describes the miscellaneous changes made to Bulk Transfer to allow the separation of the posting, Origination to In Transit and In Transit to Destination.
This chapter contains the following sections:


Changes to Bulk Transfer Setup
Bulk Transfer Setup has been modified with the addition of the Allow Separate Posting checkbox that will be used to determine the options available when posting a Bulk Transfer.

  1. Open Outbound Setup

(Tools>Setup>Cinch Grain>Bulk Transfer Setup)

  1. Allow Separate Posting checkbox:

    1. When checkbox is marked, user will be allowed to do separate posting of the origin and destination quantities for individual transaction posting. Batch posting will continue to be a single step posting.

      1. Origination to In Transit

      2. In Transit to Destination

    2. When checkbox is NOT marked, the posting of the Bulk Transfer is posted in one step.

      1. Origination to Destination


Changes to Bulk Transfer Entry
Bulk Transfer Entry has been modified with the ability to do separate posting of the origin and destination quantities.

  1. Open Bulk Transfer Entry

(Transactions>Cinch Grain>Bulk Transfer Entry)

  1. The Received Date field has been added and will be required when posting destination quantities. This date is the date the transfer reaches the destination site.

  2. Changes have been made to the accessibility of the Site fields:

    1. The Origination Site and In-Transit Site will not be allowed to be changed after the origination side has posted.

    2. The Destination Site is allowed to be changed after the Origination side of the transfer has been posted.

    3. Origination Site and Destination Site are allowed to be the same. User will be warned but allowed to continue.

  3. Use Weights/Grades will be ignored. Origination quantities will always be used.

  4. The Post button has been update with the following options:

    1. Both, when selected the system will post both the origin and destination quantities.

      1. Received date must be entered.

      2. Quantity must be specified to post, if origination is zero the system will not post the transfer.

      3. Both the Origination and Destination records will be moved to history.

    2. Origination, when selected only the Origin to In-Transit will be posted.

      1. Shipped/Transfer date must be entered.

      2. Origination Gross weight must be entered.

    3. Destination, when selected only the Destination will be posted.

      1. Received date must be entered.

      2. The destination can only be posted after the Origin has been posted and will always use the Origination quantities.

      3. Both the Origination and Destination records will be moved to history.


Changes to Bulk Transfer Inquiry
Bulk Transfer Inquiry has been modified to display partially posted transfers.

  1. Open Bulk Transfer Inquiry

(Inquiry>Cinch Grain>Bulk Transfer Inquiry)

  1. Include:

    1. Unposted will include partially posted transfers, only the Origin has been posted (Origination to In-Transit).

    2. History, both the Origin and Destination records must be posted to be moved to history.

  2. The User Defined fields have been added to the Inquiry window.
