Overview
Use this job aid to setup fertilizer items that will be used in formulations. The fertilizer items must first be setup in the Inventory Management System.
To setup fertilizer items:
From the Toolbar, click AGY for AgroGuide.
From the AgroGuide window, select General Setup Information, select Item - Fertilizer.
In the Item Number box, click Lookup , type the fertilizer item number, or click ellipse to search the business system for the fertilizer item number. If you click Lookup, only items setup for the default location will display. If the system is set to use only one location, and the item number is manually added, the item must be valid for the default location.
In the Regulatory ID this information is required for state and federal regulatory reports, such as the HAZMAT, and has no effect on the creation or processing of a formulation or blend. box, click Lookup to search the CDMS database for the identifier assigned to this chemical in the regulatory system.
The EPA Number the EPA Number box contains the Environmental Protection Agency identifier for the item. will automatically display when you select the regulatory id. If you do not interface with CDMS, you can type in the EPA number.
The Manufacturer Name the Manufacturer box contains the name of the manufacturer of the item. will automatically display when you select the regulatory id. If you do not interface with CDMS, then you can type in the name of the manufacturer.
In the Container Units The Container Units box contains the number of sales units within a package of product. The container units are required for state and federal regulatory reports, such as the HAZMAT, and have no effect on the creation or processing of a formulation or blend. box, type in the number of sales units within a package of a product, if applicable.
In the Nutrient Source Label box,
Mark Is Liquid, if the Fertilizer item is a liquid product for all locations.
Mark Is Bulk, if the product is a bulk item for all locations.
Mark Is Lime, if the product is Lime for all locations.
Mark the Is Inactive check box to inactivate this item for all locations.
Click Location Details.
In the Location box, click Lookup , type the location code, or click the ellipse to search for the location code. If the system is set to use only one location, the default location will display and the Lookup and Copy buttons are disabled.
In the Density box type in the seed density. The density must be greater than zero.
In the Application Unit of Measure/Area Unit of Measure box, type the number of application units in the formulation.
In the Application Rounding box, type in the decimal precision you want to use when adding this chemical to a blend. Application Rounding must be greater than zero. This is a required field.
In the Application Rate box, type in the rate of the fertilizer added to the box. This field can be left blank.
In the Percent of Water box, type in the % of water for the fertilizer item, when applicable. This field can be left blank.
In the Percent of Clay box, type in the % of clay for the fertilizer item, when applicable. This field can be left blank.
In the Scale Stop Increment box, type the decimal precision to use when rounding scale stops within a blend. The Application Rounding value defaults into this box, to change the value type the new value over the current value.
Mark the Add by Liquid Volume check box if the quantity of the chemical is based on another amount in the formulation. For example, you could add "1.5 pints per 100 gallons" of the blend or tank mix. Type the quantity to add in the top box and the quantity based on in the bottom box.
Mark the Is Inactive checkbox to make this item in this location inactive.
In the Nutrients box, type in the % of the Nutrients that make up the fertilizer item. If there are nutrient forms associated with the Nutrient then the Nutrient Forms will show in the lower right under the nutrient column. When applicable, type in the % of the nutrient form also.
To print a Tag Warning when this chemical is added into a formulation:
In the Warning Based On box, click the down arrow and select the warning base value.
In the Warning UOM box, click the down arrow and select the unit of measure upon which the warning is based. The Warning UOM only applies to Quantity.
In the Break value box, type the break value or values that are to trigger the warning messages.
In the Warning Message boxes, enter the warnings and the warning message for each break value.
Click Copy, to copy the fertilizer setup to another location. The fertilizer item must be setup in the business system location in order to use the copy function.
Click Ok.
Click Apply.
Press Esc until the Toolbar becomes active.
