Having an understanding of how the batches work help to know the best way to do the transactions that you use in your day to day operations.
The structure of how batches work come down to 3 levels of posting:
Transaction Level Posting (This is sometimes referred to as posting in ‘real time’) - This is when the user can enter a transaction and post it right away without having to go through creating a batch. As long as it has not been posted you can still make changes or delete transactions. Sales and inventory information will be up to date when you post.
Batch Level Posting - This allows a user to post one batch at a time. This is done from the batch or sales batch entry windows. It is important to remember that the first window “Batch Entry “ window is a CINCH window. The second window “Sales Batch Entry” is a GP window.
Grain Series Posting - This allows a user to select and post batches by series. Available series are inbound tickets and outbound shipments, only selected batches will be posted. This is a background process so users can enter, add, edit or delete transactions while posting is underway.
