The AGRIS 10.3.1 release has added:

 

AGR-41428 Update Active Reports - to Active Reports Version 10 AND convert (upgrade) standard and customized reports and forms successfully to the new version

Overview

This upgrade includes many design benefits, including:

  • "Shrink-to-fit" font sizes to maximize the amount of information on a form or report
  • Graphing capabilities to simplify understanding of information

All standard Active Forms and Advanced Reports automatically convert to Active 10.  You have the ability to choose when you want to convert your own custom forms or reports.  Currently you have the ability to revert back to the previous Active version.  

A sunset date of Active 2 reports has not yet been established.

Graphing Capability Examples

Menu Path:  Accounts Receivable > Report Manager > Advanced Reports > 1) Print Standard Reports

Example - Sales By Month (Line Chart)

This sample report shows a line graph of total monthly sales based on invoice date.

 

Example - Open Prepayments by Product Category (Bar Chart)

This sample report shows a vertical bar chart of open prepayments by product category in descending order.  

 

Conver / Upgrade Status and Process

Upgrade Status

You are able to check the status of reports and forms that have been upgraded to the Active 10 engine.  

Menu Path:  Reports > Advanced Reports > 4) Show Upgrade Status > Select

Selecting either Standard or User Defined will result in a screen like this:

The screen above shows by package how many reports and forms have been Upgraded to Active 10 and how many are Remaining to be converted / upgraded to Active 10.  

Selecting Details provides screens like this: 

The two screens above lists each report and form by package with its upgrade status.

  • An "X" in either the "New Rpt" or "New Form" signifies that the report/form has been upgraded to the Active 10 engine.
  • An "X" in either the "Old Rpt" or "Old Form" signifies that the report/form has NOT yet been upgraded to the Active 10 engine.
  • At this point in time, the Continue button does not really do much of anything and is very similar to the Back button.  

Upgrade Process

The upgrade process of User Defined Reports/Forms adheres to the Security within each package.  

Go into the applicable package and select Report Manager > Advanced Reports > Report Writer Features > Select > View Upgrade Status.  This will show a screen like this:

Select a Report and then select OK.

The following screen will appear.  

 

Type "Y" in the "Use Upgraded Reporting Engine?" field to upgrade to Active 10 and select OK.  The following screen will appear:

  • Select "Upgrade All" to upgrade all reports in this package to Active 10.  
  • Select "Upgrade This Report" to upgrade ONLY the selected report to Active 10.  

The system makes a copy of the pre-upgraded report/form in case you wish to revert the report/form to the previous Active engine.  It then upgrade the report/form to Active 10.

 

Revert Process

If you wish to revert a report/form back to the previous Active engine, type "N" in the "Use Upgraded Reporting Engine?" field and select OK and it will provide you with the "Revert Report" screen allowing you to select Yes or No to continue.
