Overview
Use this job aid for crop brand setup, to create a new brand. Examples of brand include Pioneer and DeKalb. You must specify the name, and optionally provide a description of the brand. You can create new brands, modify existing brands, or inactivate a brand.
To create a crop brand:
From the Toolbar select AGY for AgroGuide.
From the AgroGuide menu, select Crop Plan Setup, and then select Crop - Brand.
In Crop Brand Code, Type in the crop brand code. Example: Asgrow.
In Crop Brand Name, Type in the description of the crop brand code. The code and name may be the same thing. Example: Asgrow.
Click on the ellipse to set up varieties.
Click New to create a new variety.
In the Variety Code box, type in the variety code.
In the Variety Name, type a description for the variety.
From the Crop drop-down list, select the crop to associate with the variety.
In the Est. Germination box, type in estimated germination in percent.
In the Planting Depth box, type the required depth to plant the variety and select the unit of measure from the drop-down list.
From the Row Spacing drop-down list, select the required spacing when planting the variety.
In the Maturity Period box, select the period of time to associate with the variety's full growth.
In the Usage box, mark the appropriate usage for this variety.
In the Variety Attribute frame, click the down arrow in the Attribute frame. Select the attribute name and optionally type a value. Mark delete if this attribute is to be deleted.
In the items code box, associate this variety with a Seed Item that has been setup in the AgroGuide system. Click the lookup to search the AgroGuide for Seed Items.
Mark delete if the item is to be deleted.
In the Notes box, type in any notes associated with this variety. These notes do not print any place.
Click Apply to save changes and add another variety to the crop brand.
Click OK to save changes and take back to adding crop brands.
Click OK to save changes.
