Numeric Precision

Use the Numeric Precision option on the Customize menu to define the standard number of decimal positions used when rounding calculations and when printing reports and forms.

Decimal Precision Letter Codes - When designing a user-defined report or form, you will find that the decimal precision for many boxes is represented by a letter, such as "T," "P," "Q," or "U." Each letter corresponds to a numeric precision definition. Whenever you print a report or form, each box is assigned a decimal precision letter code and is printed in the number of decimal positions set for that code. The letter codes are:

  • T - Total Amount, All Packages - Type the number of decimal positions (from 0 to 5) to use when displaying or printing total amount values in all packages.

  • P - Unit Price, All Packages - Type the number of decimal positions (from 0 to 5) to use when displaying or printing unit price values in all packages

  • Q – Quantity, Product Inventory - Type the number of decimal positions (from 0 to 5) to use when displaying or printing quantity values for items set up in the Inventory Management System.

  • U – Quantity, Commodity Inventory - Type the number of decimal positions (from 0 to 5) to use when displaying or printing quantity values for commodities set up in the Commodity Management System.
