How to Settle the Grain with the Check in a Different Name ID

There are several reasons why you would need to do this, one being that the producer has passed away and the check needs to go to the estate name.

Another is the producer wants to gift money to a church or family member, but wants to keep ownership of the bushels for tax purposes.

You can add up to 10 name ids for the check split.

HOW TO:

Delivery sheet and go to produce a settlement for the producer, like normal.

Instead of selecting check or AP voucher, choose AR Payment/Adjust Split

Remove the name id and enter the new name id

Hit Ok

Hit OK

Now select either check or AP voucher, whichever is your usual process. This will give you a settlement in the producer’s name but the check will be in the name you changed it to.

NOTE: If you have patronage, the patronage will follow the name on the check. So, if patronage needs to be in the producer’s name, you will have to transfer the activity in PAT.
