Chapter 7_NEW Item Based Freight In Price GL Account

This chapter describes an enhancement to Freight Setup's GL Freight In Price feature which correlates with Sales Contract Entry. (CIN-1897)
This chapter contains the following sections:

Changes to Freight Setup
Freight Setup has been enhanced to only use the "GL Account to Use" if the GL Freight In Price Adjustment checkbox is checked AND the Freight In Price Account, within the item's Added Accounts, is blank.

1. Open Freight Setup

(Microsoft Dynamics GP >>Tools>>Setup>>CINCH Grain>>General Setup >> Additional Setup >> Freight)

1. GL Freight In Price Adjustment

   1. Marked:

      1. The Freight In Price Per Unit field on the Sales Contract Entry window will be enabled. Allowing the system to determine the Freight In Price Amount. This amount will be used to create the separate GL distribution for the freight amount.

      2. Enables the GL Account to Use field, in this window, and the Freight In Price Account field in the item's Added Accounts window.

   2. Unmarked:

      1. The Freight In Price Per Unit field on the Sales Contract Entry window will be disabled.  Meaning the system will not create a separate GL distribution for freight.

      2. Disables the GL Account to Use field, in this window, and the Freight In Price Account field in the item's Added Accounts window.

2. GL Account to Use, GL account that will be used for the Freight In Price GL distribution if an item's Freight In Price Account is blank.

Changes to Added Accounts
The Added Accounts window has been enhanced with a new account field, Freight In Price Account.

1. Open Added Accounts

(Cards>>Inventory>>Item>>Additional>>Item Extensions>>Additional>>Added Accounts)

1. Freight In Price Account

   1. Field is disable if GL Freight In Price Adjustment checkbox is unmarked within Freight Setup.

   2. Field is enabled if GL Freight In Price Adjustment checkbox is marked within Freight Setup.

      1. Enter the GL account that will be used for the Freight In Price GL distribution.

      2. If left blank the system will use the GL Account to Use defined in Freight Setup.
