Chapter 2_CINCH Grain Miscellaneous

This chapter describes miscellaneous enhancements made to CINCH Grain.
This chapter contains the following sections:


Changes to Purchase Contract Entry
The Purchase Contract Entry window has been enhanced to unlock the Pricing ( ) button if the Contract Type is Future Fixed. (CIN-4741)

  1. Open Purchase Contract Entry

(Transactions>>CINCH Grain>>Purchases/Inbound>>Purchase Contracts>>Purchase Contract Entry)


  1. Pricing (

    ), references a manual comment, not a Comment ID. If you select the (

    ) it opens the Delivery/Price Comment window, and the user can select a Comment ID &/or Zoom to the Contract Price Comment Entry window.

    If a user selects a Comment ID, the system does not save the ID but does save the comment that defaults from the ID as a "manual comment". Icon will be locked once the contract is Save/Posted. User will need to Open the Purchase Contract Price Entry window to update the comment.


Changes to Settlements By Customer Class – Report
The Settlements By Customer Class - Report has been revamped to enhance the speed it takes to produce the report. (CIN-5378)

  1. Open Settlement Reports - Settlements By Customer Class

(Reports>>CINCH Grain>>Settlement Reports>>Settlements By Customer Class)


  1. If you have modified this report, it will need to be deleted and re-modified.


Changes to Settlement Void
The Settlement window has been enhanced to prevent a void if a check has not been issued for the settlement. (CIN-5164)

  1. Open Settlement Void

(Microsoft Dynamics GP>>Tools>>Routines>>CINCH Grain>> Settlement Void)


  1. The Void function has been enhanced to verify if a check has been printed/processed for settlement.

    1. Check not printed/processed; settlement can not be voided.

    2. Check printed/processed; settlement can be voided.

    3. Split Settlement: all checks must be printed/processed before a settlement void can occur.

    4. Deferred Settlement:

      1. Deferred unprocessed; settlement can be voided.

      2. Deferred processed; settlement check must be printed/processed prior to voiding.


NEW Bulk Transfer Inquiry Zoom – Fields
Bulk Transfer Inquiry Zoom has been updated with three new fields. (CIN-5238)

  1. Open Bulk Transfer Inquiry Zoom

(Inquiry>>CINCH Grain>>Bulk Transfer Inquiry, expansion button next to the number field in the scrolling window)


  1. Transfer # displays the Inventory Transaction Number for the transfer out of the Origination site and into the In Transit site. The zoom function will open the Inventory Transaction Inquiry window.

  2. IT Adj Out # displays the Inventory Transaction Number for the adjustment out of the In Transit site. The zoom function will open the Inventory Transaction Inquiry window.

  3. Dest Adj In #: displays The Inventory Transaction Number for the adjustment into the Destination site. The zoom function will open the Inventory Transaction Inquiry window.


NEW Purchase Contract User Setup – Setting
The Purchase Contract User Setup window has been updated with a new setting called Retain Batch. (CIN-4741)

  1. Open Purchase Contract User Setup

(Microsoft Dynamics GP>>Tools>> Setup>>CINCH Grain>>Purchase Contract User Setup)


  1. Retain Batch:

    1. Checked, the Batch ID, from the previous transaction, will be retained on the Purchase Contract Entry window after a transaction is Saved/Posted. (Previous Functionality)


An 18.52 backfill exists for this setting (Retain Batch on Save in Purch. Ctr. User Setup). The system will default this setting as unchecked. The backfill will mark/check the setting for all existing users.

    1. Unchecked, the Batch ID, from the previous transaction, will not be retained on the Purchase Contract Entry window after a transaction is Saved/Posted. (New Functionality)
