Popdock and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Multi-Factor Authentication is a method that requires a user to provide multiple methods to verify their identity to gain access to data. This is becoming a requirement for many companies and will continue to be moving forward.

Popdock implements MFA by having the user choose a time-based one-time password (TOTP) authentication app to provide an additional means of verification. The app is installed on the user’s smart phone and will generate a 6 digit code. That code must be entered with the username and password to log in.

Popdock offers multiple TOTP apps such as:

·         Microsoft Authenticator

·         Google Authenticator

·         Salesforce Authenticator

·         LastPass

·         Authy

Also, you can choose which users must use MFA:

·         All users

·         Administrators only

·         Selected users

·         Selected teams

·         Selected roles

This way you can control who is required to utilize the MFA or which users are allowed to bypass this.
