Agris Removal Regedit

Error 1628 During AGRIS Upgrade on a Computer Running V9.5.0.0 or Higher

The following error may be encountered when trying to apply an AGRIS Service Pack on a machine that is currently running V9.5.0.0 or higher:

InstallShield

1628: Failed to complete installation.

This could indicate that the installation image for base version of AGRIS that resides on the computer could be corrupt. Perform the steps below to correct the problem.

Use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to partially remove V9, then manually delete a registry entry, and finally reinstall AGRIS:
1. Download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility (msicuu2.exe)
2. After it installs, go to Start > Programs > Windows Install Clean Up
3. Click on the AGRIS Version 9 entry and then click Remove

4. Close the Windows Install Clean Up Utility

5. Click Start > Run… > type REGEDIT and click OK
6. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Uninstall***

    *** (If pc is 64-bit, the path would be HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ WoW6432NODE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Uninstall)

7. Select and delete the entry that corresponds to the version of AGRIS installed that you are attempting to remove:

-----7a. For V9.5.0: Right-click on InstallShield_{D10C7031-1FEF-4FFD-995F-A3B15AA84638} and delete the entire folder
-----7b. For V9.6.0: Right-click on InstallShield_{4A6AFA1F-DC8C-4BDC-83F9-86813C46D043} and delete the entire folder
-----7c. For V10.1.2: Right-click on InstallShield_{CF907F2A-4DCC-46AB-A281-7F1C32079D44}and delete the entire folder

8. Manually install the correct base version of AGRIS (setup.exe) and service pack (update.exe). Refer to the V9 Installation Instructions provided on the V9 Product Software CD (Green CD) for help with the installation.

Scroll all the way down to the InstallShield_ key under Uninstall and highlight it. If it shows it is for AGRIS, delete the entire InstallShield_{??????}
