Pit Monitor Multisession Setup
To setup 2 sessions of Pit Monitor on a single client do the following
Overview:
Assuming this is an existing installation of pit monitor you first have to select 1 of the sites to modify the Port Number that Pit Monitor is using, the other site will be left at default
Make the setting changes for port number to the oneWeigh host
Make the setting changes for port number to the clients at the site
Ensure the site is back on line with all clients
Install Pit Monitor in 2 separate directories on the client PC that will be hosting both sessions (can install just once and copy the entire folder to a different directory for the 2nd copy)
Set the Port Number in the Pit Monitor.INI file on one of the clients to match the port number set at the site. The .INI file installs in the same directory as the pitmonitor.exe
Create shortcuts to each session of pit monitor client and set command line parameter
OneWeigh Host Setup:
Select one of the sites to set specific network port #’s on. Leave 1 site at default a port number only needs to be specified at 1 site.
Input Port Number on the host as noted below
Note once this port number is entered the client pit monitors at the site will not receive data until steps below are completed for the sites clients.

Changes to existing Pit Monitor Clients:
On the existing Pit Monitor clients at the site go to the Pit Monitor folder
If not known go to properties on the shortcut to find target folder
In the Pit Monitor folder there will be a file called Pitmonitor.INI or it might be called pitmonitor.tmp. If .tmp re-name to .INI
You can also copy a Pitmonitor.INI file from C:\Agris\Packages\One
Open this file and look for the line that says Port Number (see example below)
Set this port number value to match port number entered on the oneWeigh host PC
Repeat for all clients at the site and ensure site is back on line and communicating.
Setup of the multisession Pit Monitor client:
Install Pit Monitor program on the client once
Either install again in a different directory or simply copy the first install folder to a different directory
Select which client install will be communicating with the site that has the user defined port number.
In the Pit Monitor folder there will be a file called Pitmonitor.INI or it might be called pitmonitor.tmp. If .tmp re-name to .INI
Open this file and look for the line that says Port Number (see example below)
Set this port number value to match port number entered on the oneWeigh host PC at the site that has the user defined port number setup,
There is no work that needs to be done to the client install that will be communicating with the site that is using the default port number
Create a shortcut to each of the pitmonitor.exe’s and name each to represent the site they will be displaying.
Right click on each shortcut and at the end of the command line input:
/multisession
There is a space between the last item in the command line and prior to the /multisession
Now each session can be launched at the same time and will be listening on a specific port number and only displaying data for each individual site, not both sites on a single screen.
Â
One thing that helps identify the sites is to have the Ticket Location field as the 1st column that the pit monitor displays (as shown below).
