Introduction
Greenstone Audit is a new feature for 17.3 that leverages Microsoft Change Data Capture (CDC) for MSSQL to allow for change tracking in the AGRIS database. Once configured, administrators will be able to track database changes in AGRIS. Tracking is available for information that is user modifiable and not already tracked in AGRIS. The following information will be available for each change.
Entity and field changed (database table and column)
Document identifier (format varies based on entity)
Date and time of change
AGRIS user responsible for the change
Old and new values
Requirements:
In order to take advantage of this feature AGRIS has to be running on Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Enterprise, Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Standard R1, or higher.
A screen resolution of at least 1280 x 1024 (SXGA) is recommended.
Important Considerations:
CDC may already be enabled and configured by your database administrator. Do not make changes without consulting your system administrator.
The default CDC retention period is 3 (three) days. It is very important that the retention period is configured to accept an expanded retention period. See the "About Change Data Capture (SQL Server)" article for more information about how to change this.
