Ability to Import Physical Count

Overview

Use this job aid to import physical counts. This process will update the physical count work file. The import can be started manually in Import Procedures or automatically in a report stream.

Ability to import in physical counts:

1. In order to import the physical count file in, it must follow the Agris File Layouts.

2. Off the main menu of Agris, select Maintenance.

3. Under the Maintenance menu, select File Layouts for Imports.

   Open

   

4. From the File Layouts for Imports menu, select INV- Physical Count.

5. View the proper file format of the information to be updated.

6. Each physical count imported must have a valid location, valid item number or Universal Product Code, and a quantity. A quantity unit of measure may be optionally provided. The count imported can optionally either add to or override the current physical count in the work file. The physical count work file must exist and must not be locked by another user.

7. Once an import file is generated, go to Reports, Import Procedures and follow the standard import process. Physical counts of inventory will be updated on the physical count work file.
