Adjustments to Security Report / Import driven by user experience (AGS-10027)

Benefits:

  • Reduce time and effort to update security settings for existing users.

  • Reduce time and effort to add security for new users.

Details:

These improvements were made to improve the usability of security settings.

Navigation:

Customize > System Security > Click Print

What’s New?

1. These two changes will allow you to freeze the user id, the group user, and the name description on the first few lines so they know what they're looking at while editing the file.`

  • Move Group User ID to the beginning. Record order remains the same.

  • Move General below Group.

2. This change makes sure that users assigned to a group do not print the security options in their individual columns. Now easily see which group the ID is in and reference that column for the security option. This improvement reduces confusion with security changes.

  • Add "B = Blank Settings If User In Group" and make it default.

3. For report and import, we're now using one character field rather than three. It now looks cleaner and is easier to modify. Now on use one character codes on both export and import.

New one character codes/descriptions for security settings (Y/N/V/A/P/R/E/D):

  • Y: Yes

  • N: No

  • V: View

  • A: Add

  • P: Process

  • R: Reverse

  • E: Edit

  • D: Delete

4. In some cases, a menu item will appear in the menu multiple times. For these items, only the first occurrence has its security value populated. The others are blank since they will modify the same setting. If you modify a line other than the first, it will overwrite the setting.

  • Import is no longer case sensitive.

  • Account for repeating values ACP>VCHRP, ACP>DSBRP
