Overview

Use this job aid to void system journal entries. When a system journal entry is voided, the status code changes to 3 for voided on all system journal entries for the selected journal period for a selected package. Use of this option does not remove the system journal entries from the SJI or LDG files. The journal entries remain in the file for printing and auditing purposes. Voiding a set of system journal entries blocks out the line option number and removes the block on the same option from the minor Create System Entries Menu to permit re-creation of the set of system journal entries. Use of this job aid is recommended when too many errors are found in the system journal entries to easily correct through the Edit Journal Entries option, when additional transactions have been entered or voided in the source package after creating the system entries, when the system entries were created prematurely, or when a partially created system entry is detected as an "invalid" entry during the posting of system entries to the general ledger (since it may be too difficult to determine the missing G/L distribution lines, it may not be feasible to substitute a manual journal entry for the invalid entry).

To void system journal entries:

  1. From the Toolbar, click SJI for System Journal Interface.

  2. Select Maintain System Entries, and then select Void Journal Entries.

  3. Select the package that you want to void system journal entries in.

  4. At the Void This System Journal Entry? prompt, click Yes.
