G/L Journal Entry Import - Automatically reverse manual journal in next period (AGS-7528)

Benefit:

Reduce time and effort to reverse month-end journal entries for accruals.

Details:

Journal Entry import file now supports Manual / Next Reverse journal type, Type "0".  This single import journal replaces creating separate import file entries for both the manual and next period reversing entry.

Type "0" journal import will

• Generate a Manual Journal Entry, Type "1", in the specified ledger period AND

• Automatically generate a reversing journal (i.e., via Type "6") in the next ledger period.

G/L Journal Entry Import Report

Successfully posted reversing entry for Manual / Next Reverse import journal is printed immediately after posting the origin manual journal.  The origin manual journal is identified by the Type Entry Description "MAN-NXT/RV".  The report continues to identify the reversing journal Type Entry as "NXT/RV".

Journal Entry Import Validation

In addition to the current data validation rules, Manual / Next Reverse import entries must pass the following rules.

1. Next journal period must exist.

2. Next journal period must belong to the same journal location as the manual journal posting period.

3. Next journal period must be active.

Failed validation will prevent posting the manual journal and display "K" error code with message "NEXT JOURNAL PERIOD NOT FOUND (OR NOT ACTIVE)".
