Setting Up Standard Units of Measure

Overview

Use this job aid add additional standard units of measure. AgroGuide includes pre-defined standard units of measure, but does give you the ability to add additional standard units of measure if needed.

To setup standard units of measure:

1. From the Toolbar, select AGY for AgroGuide.

2. From the AgroGuide Menu, select General Setup Information, select Units of Measure - Standard.

3. Click New.

4. In the UOM box, type a unique identifier for the unit of measure.

5. In the Category box, click the arrow, and then select the type of unit of measure.

6. Mark the Is Metric box if you are using metric units of measure.

7. In the UOM Symbol box, type the alphanumeric short name for the unit of measure.

8. In the UOM Name box, type the name of the unit of measure.

9. In the UOM Plural box, type the plural UOM name.

10. In the Factors Frame (metric if you marked the Is Metric box, US if you did not mark the Is Metric box), type the multiplier and the divisor factors for the new unit of measure. Mark the Division is Better check box, if the conversion is easier done by division instead of multiplication.

11. Type additional information in the comment field.

12. To verify that the values entered are correct, click Test.

13. In the Value box, type a value to convert.

14. In the top UOM box, click the arrow, and then select a standard unit of measure.

15. In the bottom UOM box, click the arrow, and then select the new unit of measure.

16. Click Convert.

17. Click Close.

18. Click OK.
