Compress Activity in Patronage: What does it do?

The Compress Activity function is found in PAT > Process Activity > Compress Activity. This article will discuss the “Compress Activity?” options.

• Y = compress and replace name id/MISC codes

  • This compress option will take the records from this defined time frame and get them down to a single record per name ID and product code.

  • Each month is accumulated individually to gather inventory sales and commodity purchases into a total. This compress option takes the 12 records of the year and moves them into one record, and updates the records so their miscellaneous codes match name address.

• N = Only replace on activity

  • This compress option will make the miscellaneous codes match, but does not compress the records to a single line.

• T = Only replace on transactions

  • This compress option updates the miscellaneous codes on the transactions created when you do the refund.

The compress function updates the miscellaneous codes on the activity OR on the transactions, and can also condense the activity down to a minimum number of records.
