1.2 Solution Overview
Benefits:
Greater flexibility to share Field Notebooks with growers via the Email Forms extended option and the iView service.
Improves flexibility to share Field Notebook information tailored to your agronomy customers.
The ability to design and print field notebooks has been added to AgroGuide mapping.
A standard field notebook form has been added to the AgroGuide forms manager. The form layout is based on the AGRIS 9.6.15's field notebook layout.
Print field notebook option is accessible through new Mapping, Report Book, Field Notebook menu option. This option is unsecured; however, access is only granted after setting up valid mapping configuration and selecting a client on the main AgroGuide form.
The Print field notebook process presents a land selection and print option form. The form contains three sections: Maps to Print, Print Options, and Default Extent.
Maps to Print section displays land entity tree based on filter criteria set on main AgroGuide form. Filter criteria are name id, crop year, and include inactive items flag. From the land entity tree, you can select the client, farm, field or crop zone to print.
The Print Option section allows you to define the print image appearance. Print options include Hide Tiger maps, Hide background imagery, Hide attachments, Force boundaries to transparent, Theme boundaries by crop, and Hide neighboring boundaries. By default Tiger maps, background imagery, and attachments are displayed in field notebook image.
The Default Extent section allows you to define the map view size. Options include Client, Farm, Field, and Crop Zone. This setting determines the map image size. Client setting generates a map image that include all client fields. Farm setting generates a map image that includes all farm fields for the farm in process. Field and crop zone settings, size the map image to the field in process. Depending on the location of fields in the extent area, map image may include other fields belonging to the same or different farms.
The print process builds a single output file containing each crop zone to print. Each crop zone is printed on a single page. Crop zone color is based on the crop zone's assign crop color. As part of the print process, you are able to select standard or user defined Field NoteBook form and output device. Output device selection includes sending output to selected printer, spool, and preview. From spool, you may export field notebook to PDF document.
Features not included are:
Include dimension attachments
Hide all boundaries
Show irrigation systems
Zoom out an additional % on default extent

Image folder contains ImageFileCleanUp.txt file used to trigger removal of orphaned image files not deleted after creating and printing field notebook.
Upon presentation of print image selection form, ImageFileCleanUp.txt's last written file date is compared to current operating system date.
Clean up is initiated when date difference is one day or greater. At the beginning of cleanup process, ImageFileCleanUp.txt file is re-written in order to reset its last written file date.
Status box is displayed during removal of orphaned files. Status box displays the message "Deleting Map Images Older than 1 Day." Counter to the left of text represents the number of images evaluated.

Status Messages
Status message box only appears during processing events. Events include "Deleting Map Images Older Than 1 Day", "Generating Map Images", and "Deleting Map Images" (post notebook print).
