Running on an AGRIS version less than 1 year old is required, on Windows Server 2012 R2 or higher.
Install Microsoft .Net framework v 4.7.2 (https://www.microsoft.com/net/download/dotnet-framework-runtime). This must be installed on the AGRIS / Component server. This will require a reboot of the server upon completion.
Meet the Recommended Hardware and Software Requirements for Installing Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Express

2. Windows Server 2008 is NOT supported with SQL Server 2017 Express.
3. NOTE: Microsoft has announced that "on January 14, 2020, support for Windows Server 2008 and 2008 R2 ended. That means the end of regular security updates." For more information, see https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/cloud-platform/windows-server-2008.
Install Microsoft SQL Server Express 2017 or higher, which is used for the agent only. Here is a download link: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=853017.
1. Allocate not more than 50% of the RAM on the machine to running Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Express. To do this, click HERE.
Install Microsoft SQL Server 2018 Management Studio (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/ssms/download-sql-server-management-studio-ssms?view=sql-server-2017). This will require a reboot of the server upon completion.
1. Confirm SQL Server Management console works by opening the management console.

If running AGRIS in production on the Actian Zen/PSQL database engine, be on version 13 or higher.
If running AGRIS in production with the MS-SQL database engine MSSQL16 or higher:
1. Have the MS-SQL server on a dedicated server (best practice).
2. If the SQL Server also has AGRIS installed (not a best practice):
  1. Assure that MS-SQL Server 2017 or higher is installed OR
  2. Move AGRIS to an Application Server to support the agent.
3. The agent will be installed on a server where AGRIS is installed.
