Extended Date Entry parameters: Allow for Beginning/Ending of Fiscal Year/Month/Quarter + or - number of months (AGS-3161)

The AGRIS 18.1.0 release has added:

AGS-3161: Extended Date Entry parameters: Allow for Beginning/Ending of Fiscal Year/Month/Quarter + or - number of months

Need more flexibility to run report streams for documents with certain date ranges base on fiscal year?  Want to reduce time and effort managing date parameters on output?

The system has previously allowed date filter acronyms such as B.C.D (Beginning Current Day).  This feature has been expanded to allow the company's current fiscal year, fiscal quarter, or fiscal month plus or minus a specified number of months.  This allows you to generate financial reports that can print each month in a column and include the previous 12 months all on 1 sheet of paper. This feature will be supported everywhere throughout the system that currently handles the entry of Extended Dates (usually on the Range Selection Criteria of reports).

The following examples handle Beginning/Middle/Ending of the Fiscal Year/Quarter/Month, plus or minus up to 99 months:

  • BFY-2 = Beginning current Fiscal Year minus 2 months
  • BFM+25 = Beginning current Fiscal Month based plus 25 months
  • MFQ+2 =Middle current Fiscal Quarter plus 2 months
  • EFM-10 = Ending of current Fiscal Month minus 10 months

This example shows that the plus sign '+' is optional, to allow for a maximum of 999 months into the future:

BFM120 = Beginning current Fiscal Month plus 120 months

Example input screen - The Entry Date filter parameter screen below will produce a Journal Entry Report for all entries made in previous and current fiscal quarters:

BFQ-3 = Beginning current Fiscal Quarter minus 3 months
EFQ = Beginning current Fiscal Quarter plus 6 months
