2022 Year End Patronage Webinar [1099-PAT]

We are posting three Year End Webinar Sessions. One for Payroll, One for Accounts Payable and one for Patronage. The recording was completed in 2021, but is still relevant and accurate this year.

During this webinar, we cover:

  • How to conduct yearend 1099 reporting

  • How to handle per-unit-retain reporting

  • How to do pass-thru credit reporting

2022 items to note:

  •  250 Limit - if filing more than 250 returns, then the information must be filed electronically, along with printing out forms for vendors. This 250-threshold requirement applies separately to each form.

  • 1099’s forms are filed with the IRS through the FIRE System at //fire.irs.gov/.
This site is currently down for updates Nov 25th thru Jan 5th.

  • If filing 1099’s electronically, you must have a Transmitter Control Code & FIRE system login.

  • So that you buy the right forms for you printer, the number of returns per 8.5-inch x 11-inch page follow this. But most use the 1099-Substitute forms because you don’t have to purchase any forms as AGRIS uses plain paper to print these.

  • AGRIS V22.3.0 Released December 2022
If you are on at least 22.1, then you do not need to upgrade to the latest AGRIS version just to report 1099-NEC, 1099-INV, or 1099-MISC. With a slight adjustment of adding a year to print, the forms are the same.
There was a defect correction in 22.3 pertaining to the electronic filing if Per-unit-retains were negative. You would need to upgrade for this correction or manually manipulate the data.
