Importing Ledger Budget/Forecast Amounts
NOTE: the import of budgets does not append/replace existing data. It rejects due to duplicate information.
Importing Budgets
There is a new feature in AGRIS that will allow you to import the budgets from an ASCII file or a CSV spreadsheet file.
The layout for the file is found in AGRIS > Maintenance > File Layouts for Imports > LDG – Budget Import
Design a spreadsheet for columns A-I with the information above & import it into the Ledger without having to use the entry system.
Save file in a CSV format.
AGRIS > Reports > Imports > Standard Import > Select the file you created.
NOTE: the import of budgets does not append to existing data. Each import wipes out what is in the budget file. So you must import the entire budget each time.
As of 2020, AGRIS does not wipe out what is in the budget file. AGRIs rejects due to duplicate information.
NOTE: the import of budgets does not append/replace existing data. It rejects due to duplicate information.
WORKAROUND:
Option One (if on Pervasive):
Edit your import file for changes. Must contain full year’s data.
Rename the YTDBudgt.ldg file or rename it in the dataset via file explorer. (note this only works if using Pervasive.)
Use AGRIS file maintenance > rebuild files > Ledger > Budget > Answer Yes to reinitialize a new file.
Now import into a completely empty file
Option Two:
Call support to file rebuild out the records you want changed, then import.
Option three:
Do not use the import function beyond the initial import.
Use manual edit in LDG > Budget Balances to make corrections.
