Setting up Hot Suspension Formulation Groups

Overview

Use this job aid to setup hot suspension formulation groups.

To setup a hot suspension formulation group:

  1. From the Toolbar, click AGY for AgroGuide.

  2. From the AgroGuide  menu, select Formulation Setup, select Formulation Groups - Edit.

  3. Clic.k New.

  4. In the Location box, click Lookup , type the location code, or click  the ellipse to search for the location code. If the system is set to use only one location, the default location will display and the Lookup button is disabled.

  5. Mark the Blend Type box for a Hot Suspension.

  6. In the Formulation Group Id box, type a unique identifier for the formulation group.

  7. In the Formulation Group Name box, type the name of the formulation group.

  8. In the Blender Name box, click the arrow to the right of the box, and then select the blender for this formulation group.

  9. In the Loadout Name box, click the arrow to the right of the box, and then select the loadout for this formulation group.

  10. Mark the Is Default check box to make this the default formulation group.

  11. Mark the Is Inactive check box to make this formulation group inactive.

  12. In the Water Source box, click Lookup , and then select the water source. If the system is set for only one location, only items setup for the default location will display.

  13. In the Water % box, type in the percentage of water to use when creating the formulation.  The water percentage must be less than or equal to 100.

  14. In the Clay Source box, click Lookup , and then select the clay source for the formulation group. If the system is set for only one location, only items setup for the default location will display.

  15. In the Clay % box, type in the percentage of clay in this formulation group. This percentage must be greater than or equal to zero and less than or equal to 100.

  16. In the Ammoniating Source box, click Lookup , and then select the item that contains your ammonia source. If the system is set for only one location, only items setup for the default location will display.

  17. In the Phosphate Reactor box, click Lookup , and then select the item for your primary phosphate source. If the system is set for only one location, only items setup for the default location will display.

  18. In the Nitrogen to Phosphate Ratio the Nitrogen to Phosphate Ratio: 1 to box contains the ratio to use to control the heat of reaction when creating a formulation. For example, if you want to maintain a 1:3 ratio between the phosphate and the acid, you would enter a 3. box, type the ratio to use to control the heat of reaction when creating a formulation.

  19. In the % P from Phosphate Reactor box, type the percentage of phosphate that comes from the phosphate reactor.

  20. In the Water Temperature box, type the water temperature. The water temperature must be between 32 and 212 degrees Fahrenheit.

  21. Mark the Formulate to Rate if you define this option, the blend group can blend only to rate of nutrient per acre, it cannot be used to create a blend by analysis. (Volume/Area) to define gallons per acre of liquid blends, type in the volume rate or mark the Formulate to Rate (Volume/Area) check box and leave the volume rate blank to automatically calculate the rate and allow you to change the rate (if the rate is changed, the adjustment is made to water and/or clay).  Click the arrow to the right of Volume UOM to select the unit of measure for volume.  Click the arrow to the right of Area UOM to select the unit of measure for area.

  22. Click View Items.

  23. Click New.

  24. In the Location box, click Lookup , and select the location the item was setup in. If the system is set to use only one location, the default location will automatically display.

  25. In the Item box, click Lookup , and then select the item to add to the formulation. If the system is set for only one location, only items setup for the default location will display.

  26. Mark the Include in Blend check box to include this item in formulation.

  27. In the Lock Percent the Lock Percent box contains the percent of a specific nutrient within the item. The Lock Percent is unique to each item in the formulation group and must be greater then or equal to zero and less then or equal to 100. box, type a percentage or leave blank for no lock.

  28. In the Lock Nutrient the Lock Nutrient box contains the nutrient associated with the Lock Percent  box, click on the arrow to the right to select the Nutrient for the lock.

  29. Click Apply.

  30. Repeat steps 23-28 to add more items to the formulation group.

  31. To specify the order the items are added to the blend, click Induction Order. The Induction Order box contains the sequence in which the item is poured into a blender.

  32. Click All> to move all of the Items on the Formulation Group Items list to the Induction Order list.

  33. Click >> to move one item on the Formulation Group Items list to the bottom of the Induction Order list.

  34. Click <All to move all of the items from the Induction Order list to the Formulation Group Items list.

  35. Click << to move one item from the Induction Order list to the Formulation Group Items list.

  36. Click OK.

  37. Click OK.

  38. Click Ratios.

  39. On the Formulation Group Ratios window, click New.

  40. In the Ratio Type box, click the down arrow and select the type of ratio.

  41. Select the items and nutrients in the ratio, and the ratios associated with them. The second item cannot be the same as the first item. Only items associated with the formulation group display on the drop-down lists.

  42. If the ratio type is nutrient, select a nutrient for each item. Only nutrients associated with the item display on the drop-down list.

  43. Click OK.

  44. Click OK.
