Stock Additions Approve Average Cost Change Message
How to stop or maintain the Approve Average Cost Change Message in Stock Additions
There are two ways the warning message can be stopped, or can be edited to a higher allowable percent change:
Use System Security
For a user to not have the message pop up, their System Security for INV > General Options > Override % Avg Cost Change would need set to a Yes. This means the user can input a stock addition with an average cost change above the percent allowed with no username and password approval required.
This would be on a per user basis for users that you want to have full access to inputting any average cost they choose. If you do not want the user to be able to input any average cost they choose, leave this setting as a No and the average cost change on a stock addition outside the limit set in inventory settings will prompt for the username and password of a user with the security set to a Yes to be able to override.
Use inventory setup options
The other option is in INV > Setup Information > Stock Addition Options. This option allows you to edit the percentage of change allowed on the average cost before a username and password is required, or you can blank out the percentage and no approval will be required for any user changing the average cost on the stock addition.
Either blank out or change your percentage for allowable avg cost % change. Only changes to the average cost on the stock addition above this set percentage would prompt for the username and password of a user that has security set to a Yes to override.
Blanking out or changing the percentage would be a system wide change, whereas with security you could control it on a user-to-user basis for who can input any average cost without approval in accordance with the set percentage.
