Creating a Multi-Dimensional Nutrient Table Recommendation

Overview

Recommendations can be made by using Multi-Dimensional-Nutrient-Recommendation-Tables (MDRT) or Removal Tables.  The MDNRT’s can be built to compare yield goals and nutrient levels, and then these recommendation tables can be assigned to the soil test results to create compound nutrient recommendations.

To create multi-dimensional table:

  1. From the toolbar, select AGY for AgroGuide.

  2. From the AgroGuide Setup menu, select Crop Plan Setup, select Recommendation, and then select Recommendation system to display the Recommendation Systems window.

  3. In the Recommendation System box, click the drop-down arrow to display the recommendations already setup.   Select the Recommendation System to apply an MDRT or create a new Recommendation System.

  4. In the Recommendation Type box, use the drop down arrow to select Table.

  5. In the Crops window verify the crop setup, or add additional crop(s).

  6. In the Nutrient Recommendations Window, click Add to display the Recommendation System – Table Maintenance window.

  7. In the Table Name box, type the name of this table.  Notice that as Table Names are added to the MDNRT, a tree of the Table Names will populate in the bottom right frame of the window.

  8. Click the drop-down arrow in the Nutrient box to select the nutrient for the table set up.

  9. In the Recommend UOM box, type or click the drop-down arrow to select the UOM for the nutrient on the recommendation.

  10. In the Yield UOM box, type or click the drop-down arrow to select the UOM for the crop yield used for this recommendation.   This may restrict the selection of Crops on the Recommendation screen.   The crops must have the same yield UOM.

  11. In the Soil Test Type box, type or click the drop-down arrow to select the soil test type to be assigned to this recommendation.   The Soil Test UOM defaults from the setup of the Soil Test Types.

  12. In the Yield Interpretation box, type or click the drop-down arrow to select the method to use within the table when actual values are between the table values.

  13. In the Test Interpretation box, type or click the drop-down arrow to select the method to use within the table when actual values are between the table values.

  14. In the Table, type values for the Yield Goals across the horizontal blue boxes and values for the Test Values in the vertical red boxes.   Type the nutrient values for each appropriate box in the white boxes.

  15. To display the multi-level drill down tables, highlight a nutrient value box (white box) and click the Create Button.   Click Create Drill Down Tables for more detailed help.

  16. To remove a dependency table, highlight the button within the table and click Remove Button.   This will clear all of the subsequent tables attached to this button.

  17. Click the Clear button to delete the complete table.

  18. Click Ok to save the entries and exit from the window.  Clicking Ok will populate all empty nutrient cells (white) with 0.00.
