Creating a Removal Table for Recommendation Systems

Overview

Recommendations can be made by using Removal Tables to identify the nutrients removed from the soil by the crop removal.   Also use the Removal Tables for build up of nutrient reserves over a period of years.   These Removal Tables can be assigned to the soil test results to create nutrient recommendations.

To create removal table:

  1. From the toolbar, Select AGY for AgroGuide.

  2. From the AgroGuide menu, select Crop Plan Setup, select Recommendation, and then select Recommendation system to display the Recommendation Systems window.

  3. In the Recommendation System box, click the drop-down arrow to display the recommendations that have already been setup. Or select the Recommendation System to apply a Removal Table or create a new Recommendation System.

  4. In the Crops window verify the crop setup, or add additional crop(s).

  5. In the Nutrient Recommendations Window, click Add to display the Recommendation System – Removal Process window.

  6. In the Removal Method Name box, type the name of this table.

  7. In the Soil Build Years box, type the number of years for the Build To be calculated against.  The crop plan will subtract the soil test value from the Build To value and divide by the soil build year value to calculate the correct nutrient needed for the current year.

  8. In the Removal column, type the number of pounds of nutrient per yield UOM that will be removed by the crop.

  9. In the Build To column, type the number of pounds per acre for the optimum level of nutrient in the soil for reserve.

  10. Verify the Multiplier column or adjust to reduce or increase the removal decimal positioning.

  11. Click Ok to save the entries and exit from the window.
