Installation Instructions for Actian PSQL/Zen V15

Following these instructions will allow you to use and see PSQL v15.11.023.000 in Help > About AGRIS.

Server and Client Download Links:

We recommend you create a folder named PSQLv15SP1 in the AGRISDIST folder of the AGRIS server (see example of folder location below) and place the Server and Client installation files in the new folder.
Example: \\Server_Name\APPS\AGRISDIST\PSQL 15

If installing a Workgroup installation, the files can be placed on the desktop of the machine it will be installed on, or any folder accessible from the machine you wish run the install on. 

These instructions also work for upgrading from PSQL v13-15

WARNING:If you are installing PSQL v15 Server or Workgroup for the first time, you will need to have a PSQL v15 License Key to authorize the software. Please call the Cultura Technologies Sales line at 800-393-0075 to order license keys if you have not done so already. If installed without authorizing a license key, the Server Engine will use a 30 day temp license for 20 users and the Workgroup Engine will use a 30 day temp license for 5 users.

WARNING:Due to enhanced security features in Windows, please ensure that the installers listed above are unblocked prior to installation using the following steps: 

1. Right-click on the downloaded installation file and click Properties 

2. At the bottom of the General tab, look for a button that says “Unblock”

a. If the button exists, click Unblock and then click OK 

b. If the button does not exist, then click Cancel and continue with the installation as normal.

TIP: These instructions assume that the machine you are licensing for use with PSQL v15 Server or Workgroup is currently able to access the internet. If internet access is unavailable, please contact Cultura Technologies Technical Assistance Center at 800-366-2474 for assistance authorizing the license key. 

TIP: Only PSQL Server and Workgroup installations require a license key authorization, not Client installations. First time installations of PSQL v15 Server will automatically install a 30 day temp license for 20 users, and first time installations of PSQL v15 Workgroup will install a 30 day temp license for 5 users.

TIP: Moving License Keys - If you are performing a migration of a PSQL v15 Server or Workgroup installation from one machine to another, you should first deauthorize the license key from the initial machine prior to authorizing it on the new machine. If you are unfamiliar with this procedure, please contact Cultura Technologies Technical Assistance Center at 800-366-2474 for assistance.

 Instructions

Server Install

1. From the PSQLv15 SP1 folder right-click

PSQL-Server-15.10.011.000-win.exe and click Run as administrator

1. Click Unzip to extract the installation files and begin the installation process

2. Click OK to launch the installation menu

3. From the menu, click Install PSQL v15 Server Engine

4. If prompted, close any running applications that may interfere with the Pervasive PSQL installation

5. On the Welcome screen, click Next

6. On the License Agreement screen, please read and accept the terms and click Next

7. With Complete selected, click Next

8. Click Install to begin the installation

10. Click Finish to complete the installation of the Server engine
11. Close the Registration page which opens following the completion of the Pervasive PSQL v15 install
12. Click Exit to close the PSQL v15 installation menu
13. From the PSQLv15 folder right-click PSQL_Patch_Server-15.11.023.000.exeand click Run as administrator
14. Click Unzip to extract the installation files and begin the installation process
15. Click OK to launch the installation
16. On the Welcome screen, click Next
17. On the License Agreement screen, please read and accept the terms and click Next
18. Click Update to begin the update
19. Click Finish to complete the installation 
20. Click the Windows Start button and begin to type PSQL License Administrator until it appears in the Windows search results
21. Click PSQL License Administrator in the search results
22. Enter the PSQL v15 Server Product Key and click Authorize

Client Install

1. From the PSQLv15SP1 folder right-click

PSQL-Server-15.10.011.000-win.exe and click Run as administrator

1. Click Unzip to extract the installation files and begin the installation process

2. Click OK to launch the installation menu

3. From the menu, click Install PSQL v15 Client Only

4. If prompted, close any running applications that may interfere with the Pervasive PSQL installation

5. On the Welcome screen, click Next

6. On the License Agreement screen, please read and accept the terms and click Next

7. With Run as an Application selected, click Next

8. With Complete selected, click Next

10. Click Install to begin the installation
11. Click Finish to complete the installation of the Client
12. Click Exit to close the PSQL v15 SP1 installation menu
13. From the PSQLv15 folder right-clickPSQL_Patch_Client-15.11.023.000.exeand click Run as administrator
14. Click Unzip to extract the installation files and begin the installation process
15. Click OK to launch the installation
16. On the Welcome screen, click Next
17. On the License Agreement screen, please read and accept the terms and click Next
18. Click Update to begin the update
19. Click Finish to complete the installation

Workgroup Install

1. From the desktop of the machine you are performing the install on, right-click

PSQL-Workgroup-15.10.011.000-win.exeand click Run as administrator

1. Click Unzip to extract the installation files and begin the installation process

2. Click OK to launch the installation menu

3. From the menu, click Install PSQL v15 Workgroup Edition

4. If prompted, close any running applications that may interfere with the Pervasive PSQL installation

5. On the Welcome screen, click Next

6. On the License Agreement screen, please read and accept the terms and click Next

7. With Run as a Service selected, click Next

8. With Complete selected, click Next

10. Click Install to begin the installation
11. Click Finish to complete the installation of the Workgroup
12. Close the Registration page which opens following the completion of the Pervasive PSQL v15 SP1 install
13. Click Exit to close the PSQL v15 installation menu
14. From the desktop right-clickPSQL_Patch_WGE-15.11.023.000.exeand click Run as administrator
15. Click Unzip to extract the installation files and begin the installation process
16. Click OK to launch the installation
17. On the Welcome screen, click Next
18. On the License Agreement screen, please read and accept the terms and click Next
19. Click Update to begin the update
20. Click Finish to complete the installation
21. Click the Windows Start button and begin to type PSQL License Administrator until it appears in the Windows search results
22. Click PSQL License Administrator in the search results
23. Enter the PSQL v15 Workgroup Product Key and click Authorize
