What is the alternate and other name ID fields in Name Address Relationships?

Alternate ID: The Alternate Name ID input field identifies the name ID in another software database. The alternate ID may be used in exporting and importing data between an AGRIS software package and another software database.

• imports - at time of import the flag to use “alternate ID” can be marked and the transactions with this Alternate ID will import and update the AGRIS ID account automatically.

• Key in an alternate ID to find the Find AGRIS name id. Change the Asterisk * to a plus + and a box will appear in AGRIS to key in Alternate ID number.
  
  

  
  

Other Name IDs:
This field is a software placeholder for future uses. it used to be called Contact/Farmers and was used by AgriNomix in it’s reports. AgriNomix was replaced by AgroGuide.
As of version 24, no module of AGRIS is using these fields. But it is easier to leave these screens/fields in AGRIS than remove them so they became placeholders for future use.
This is NOT the Other Name ID field that is referenced on Commodity Account contracts.
