How to Print Barcode Labels

This article will explain how to print Inventory Item labels, as well as half-page shelf labels.

 

Individual Item Labels are the default and will be set automatically in Agris (These are usually small barcodes that are placed on the item)

Half Page or Full Page Shelf Labels will require creating a new Advanced report.

For printing individual Item Labels

  1. Open Agris and navigate to INV > Inventory > Item Maintenance > View/Edit Inventory Items

  2. After searching for the Item you wish to print barcodes for

  3. Select option #6 “Barcodes” from the list.

  1. Click “Print Label”

All information should auto-fill for the item. Just select how many labels you want printed and then click Ok.

For printing Half/Full Page Shelf Labels

  1. Open Agris and navigate to INV > Report Manager > Advanced Reports > Report Writer Features

  2. Click Insert to Create a new Report Form.

  1. Select Standard Report as a Report Type to default from.

  2. Select “Inventory Barcode Label Dymo 450 (30252 Address)”

  1. When the page opens, press Enter once.

  2. Rename Report to reflect the Shelf Label Form. (Ex. “Inventory Bar Code Label Shelf Tag 1/2 page”)

  1. Press enter until you get to the form designer or are prompted with an alert on the following page. The Barcode and Custom Description fields might need to be lowered to 30

  1. Enter any item that has a barcode in the inventory item boxes and click OK (This is just to create the form so doesn't matter which item is picked)

  1. When the designer pulls up, set the print width to 8.

  1. For the Barcode, set the Location and size parameters to the following. Location

    1. Location: 1.177, 0.771 in

    2. Size: 5.323, 2.406 in

Drag the UPC and Description Boxes to the middle under the barcode, and change the font to 16 and set to Middle Alignment.

  1. Click Preview at the top left to see what it would look like on a page and make changes as necessary.

  1. Save & Exit the editor.

  2. From the Advanced report Menu, Select Choose Default Reports.

  1. Select “Inventory > Item Maintenance > Save/Print Label”

  1. Select Use A User Defined Report

  2. Select the Half Page Label you just created.

  1. Now that this is set as the default you can repeat steps 1-7 from the "Printing Individual Item Labels” section above. To change from half page shelf labels back to individual labels repeat steps 21-26 but pick the original report as the default in step 26.
