Creating Subfields using Boundary Editor

Overview

Subfields are useful for splitting up a field when there may be two or more different crops within the same field boundary.  The subfield will make a copy of the field boundary so regions can be created within the boundary to identify the different cropping areas.

To create a subfield:

  1. From the toolbar, select AGY for AgroGuide.

  2. From the AgroGuide menu, Select AgroGuide.

  3. In the Client box, use the lookup to select a Client.

  4. Select the SubField in the AgroGuide Tree window that will have the region defined.

  5. Click on the Map Tab.

  6. Select the Field Boundary Editor, and then subfield editor.

  7. Use the Split , Buffer a select region , or the baseline tools to create a region for the subfield highlighted in the AgroGuide Tree window.  Note: In this example we use the baseline tools to create the subfields.

  8. Once the different regions have been created, click on one of the newly created subfield regions.  The Select a polygon button should already be selected.

  9. Click on Link.

  10. In the Define SubFields window that appears, select the subfield in the list that will be linked to the region you just selected. Click OK.

  11. Continue the process of selecting polygons and linking them to subfields.

  12. Click on Apply to save the changes.
