Importing in Shape Files

Overview

Use this job aid to import in Shape Files.

To import in shape files:

  1. From the toolbar, Select AGY for AgroGuide.

  2. From AgroGuide menu, Select AgroGuide.

  3. In the Client box, use the lookup to select a Client.

  4. Select the Field in the AgroGuide Tree window that needs the boundary. Note: Be sure that the Farm/Field are setup in the AgroGuide Tree window prior to drawing the boundary

  5. Select the Map Tab.

  6. Click Overlay and External File , then select overlay a file.

  7. In the FODD Import Wizard, click on ESRI Shapefiles as the Device and Regions as  the Data Content.

  8. Click Next.

  9. Browse to and select the location where the shapefiles are located in the Data Folders section and click on the appropriate shapefile in the Available Files section.

  10. Click on Finish.

  11. Once the field(s) has been imported, it is necessary to link each field that was imported to a field in the AgroGuide Tree window.  To do so, begin by selecting the field in the AgroGuide Tree window.

  12. Select the Boundary Editor , and then select Boundary Editor.

  13. Select a Draw a Boundary Region , and then click on Select an imported region.  

  14. Click on a field to be linked to the field that is selected in the AgroGuide tree.  

  15. Click on Apply  to complete the link to the field selected in the AgroGuide tree.
