Btrieve 3106 Starting AGRIS
WARNING: Incorrect use of the Registry Editor can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
The cause of this problem is generally due to a network connectivity issue which may have caused the workstation to map a new path to what it believes is the AGRIS database server. This new connection, which is logged in the workstation's registy, is invalid. Every time V9 is launched on this machine, it will use the new, invalid path and return errors. Some typical causes include power outages and DNS configuration issues. The error will persist until either the Pervasive client is reinstalled or the Pervasive NumSatEntries are cleared
To resolve this issue proceed with the following steps:
Clear the Pervasive NumSatEntries
Go to Start - Run type REGEDIT click OK
Click the plus next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Click the plus next to SOFTWARE
Click the plus next to Pervasive Software
Click the plus next to Communications Requester
Click the plus next to Version 8
Click on Settings
On the right delete any entries that begin with SatEntry# (ie: SatEntry0, SatEntry1, etc) by clicking on them once and pressing the Delete key on the keyboard and clicking Yes to confirm
After all the SatEntry# references are deleted double click NumSatEntries and change the value to the number 0 and click OK
Exit the Registry Editor by clicking File - Exit
Try running AGRIS again to determine if this has corrected the problem
