Basic 429, 462, and/or 463 Errors

The following information regarding Basic 429, 462, and/or 463 errors can be found by going into AGRIS V9 > Utilities > Diagnostics > Diagnose Server Components > Suggestions.

Error : Basic #429 - ActiveX component can't create object
Suggestion: Make sure you entered a valid machine name for the component server.  A server parameter was specified, but the server could not be reached or found. If you are sure you specified a valid server name, try specifying the IP address of the server.  You can find the IP address of the server by pinging it by name.  Proper Name resolution is critical.

Error: Basic #462 - The remote server machine does not exist or is unavailable
Suggestion: Make sure you entered a valid machine name for the component server.  A server parameter was specified, but the server could not be reached or found. If you are sure you specified a valid server name, try specifying the IP address of the server.  You can find the IP address of the server by pinging it by name.  Proper Name resolution is critical.

Error : Basic #463 - Class not registered on local machine
Suggestion: Make sure the server dll exists on the client and is registered.  You can register the dll by running RegSvr32.exe dllname on the client machine.  The server dll also needs to be installed and registered on the component server machine and added to a the components folder of a COM+ application.

You might need to use the following command to resolve the error...

Update.exe /v"REINSTALLMODE=amus REINSTALL=ALL"
