Permissions Errors and/or Basic 75 Errors
Users may encounter some form of permissions error or a Basic 75 error while working in or attempting to access the AGRIS program. The file system security in Windows can become corrupted and cause problems when running AGRIS.
Reset permissions:
At the server console
Go to My Computer or Windows Explorer, right-click the AGRIS folder (typically C:\Apps\Agris) and select Properties
Click the Security tab
Make sure "Allow inheritable permissions from the parent to propagate to this object" is checked.
Click Advanced
Click the Owner tab
Select the network administrator (DOMAIN\Administrator) under "Change owner to" and check the box "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects"
Click Apply and allow the file ownership to be reset
Click the Permissions tab
Check the box "Reset permissions on all child objects and enable propagation of inheritable permissions"
Click Apply and allow the permissions to reset for the AGRIS folder
Click OK - OK
Retry the failed operation in AGRIS
Comments
The above error has also been reported when certain files are flagged with the read-only attribute.
Encountered a situation recently where a single machine on the network would encounter a Basic 75 error when logged into Windows as a non-administrator account. Determined that non-administrator users had no rights to the agris\agris.ini file. Had to reset permissions on the local AGRIS folder using the steps above to resolve the issue.
